WPMU DEV Review: Lots Of Pro WordPress, BuddyPress And Multisite Plugins + Themes
Few months ago, WPMU DEV had ran a giveaway at WRD and readers had liked what they offered very much.
I thought this is now a good time for a full review of the service in case you missed them.
Many of us build websites using WordPress, create or customize themes of it, make use of the plugins and Google any issues we face regarding the application.
WPMU DEV is a premium club which offers all parts of this ecosystem in a professional way.
They are mostly popular with their huge list of plugins (140+) that includes ones like:
- MarketPress (adds e-commerce capabilities),
- Chat (live chat for visitors),
- Snapshot (for backing up all the data),
- e-Newsletter (sending newsletter from WP-Admin),
- Events+ (think of EventBrite),
- and much more..
The look and feel of the website, yes, themes. There are 160+ themes to choose from. Items exist for creating a portfolio website, a magazine, blog or and e-commerce site with the MarketPress plugin.
And, most of these plugins + themes work with Multisite and BuddyPress besides the standard WordPress installation.
For me, what actually makes WPMU DEV highly valuable is their support. If you deal with WordPress a lot, there will surely be lots of stuff you’ll want to ask to experts.
WPMU DEV is full of experts (that know what they are doing) where you can get help with live-chat and/or e-mails. Even saving few hours a month just for this is worth their subscription fee.
Also, a highly active community forum exists and there are Q&As, manuals or tutorials so that you always have the answers soon or sooner.
Other than their website, you can also find WPMU DEV on Facebook and Google Plus to see what others thinks about them.
To sum up, imho, WPMU DEV is a very good fit for active WordPress users (people who like working frequently with their websites or WP designers/developers). And, the price is so acceptable as well ($39.50/month) for all these stuff.

u must be joking mate.
1. Most plugin ain’t working.
2. Debugging by you not them, u pay to buy a none working plugin.
3. Themes ain’t working either.
4. Customer support, u can forget about it.
5. Free for life ? hhahaha this is great joke
I tried the “Directory” plugin, but it wouldn’t work properly with my theme. I was told that my theme would have to be modified to make it work.
Apparently this applies to most themes – something they conveniently fail to mention before you sign up.
$19 down the drain.
