Typedia: Encyclopedia of Typefaces

Oct
Typedia is a free-to-use community-driven resource to classify, categorize, and connect typefaces.
It works like a wiki, anyone can join, add & edit pages for typefaces or for the people behind the types.
It is possible to find out details about fonts like:
- the designers
- foundries
- country of origin
- release year
- & more..
The resource is not complete yet (and won’t be, as new fonts are created everyday) but growing & becoming a very useful resource.
Typedia also offers some other great information under the "Learn" section.

This sounds very interesting, the only thing I would add is license information for each font.
Try for all fonts information http://www.myfonts.com….
They have a large selection with samples and all official typefaces to buy online.
The best feature is their font finder utility! Send in an Image with type and they will try to search the font using OCR ( and btw that’s your O….{eyes} as well)
It helped me enormously when recreating a website style using a logo from a brochure!!
