Simple Desktops, a website curated by Tom Watson, is sharing a huge collection of beautiful wallpapers.

Wallpapers can sometimes be distracting, however, the ones presented are all plain with some small and nice touches.

There are more than 250 items where new ones are being added regularly (you can submit new ones too).

Simple Desktops is not only a place to find nice wallpapers but also a good resource to spend time for inspiration.

Desktopography is a website which shares a collection of impressive wallpapers to beautify desktops.

They are created by designers invited by the website and it can be clearly seen that "a serious effort is spent on each of them".

Wallpapers are published since 2005 and items are categorized as years.

They are provided in multiple sizes and besides using them, Desktopography is a good source of design inspiration.

Personally, I'm not a wallpaper fan and my desktop has only a black background, but now, considering to give wallpapers another chance : ).

Templates.com, a place to find quality templates, professional cliparts, 3D models & more, is running a wallpaper contest.

The contest is devoted to St.Valentine’s Day with the topic: "LOVE will save the world!".

Submissions can be an image, 3D art, vector, photo or pixmap which must be in JPG format. They can be submitted until 14th of February.

Winners will be selected by the user votes and the contest jury.

The designer who creates the best wallpaper will get the $150 prize, announced as the winner at Templates.com and get exposure.
