When creating a web application or a software, it is usually a good idea to search for resources, like snippets, plugins, etc., that can ease the job.
Cocoa Controls is a website which offers this functionality to iOS and Mac OS X developers by listing open source and custom UI components for these platforms.

There are already 150+ controls (like this awesome iCarousel) where new ones are added regularly. Also, you can submit new resources as well.
P.S. What would be greater is a categorization of the controls so they can be found much easier.

ChocolateChip-UI is a mobile web app development framework that targets WebKit engines..
The framework provides fully functional widgets and controls right out of the box which know how to behave so you can focus only on providing the data.

A new concept is introduced by the framework: WAML (Web App Markup Language) which is designed for creating mobile web apps and uses special tags + attributes to clearly define all the parts (rather than divs and spans) for a faster development.
ChocolateChip-UI has most of the elements we get used from iOS like the buttons, tab bar, lists, slider and more.
The framework is very well-documented, provides snippets for the basics and definitely a must-bookmark for mobile web app development.
Requirements: No Requirements
Compatibility: WebKit Browsers

When developing something in a language that you're not so experienced with, looking for the examples and digging them deeply is a good way of learning.
Same with the iPhone application development and considering it is something new for many developers, viewing the codes of real-world applications and re-using them when needed is very valuable.
Here are 20+ open source iPhone apps to learn and get inspired from:
-

The official WordPress application for iOS.
Besides strong content or comment editing features, it can share your location while publishing a post as well (download exists under the "development menu").
-

The open source iPhone application of the FreshBooks invoicing service.
It connects to the FreshBooks account and enables you to use most of the features (source is offered here).
-

An e-mail search application (acquired by Google) that downloads all your e-mail and makes full-text searches.
