Metrize is a slick set of 300+ vector icons that have a Metro UI-like style.
The set comes in multiple vector formats (PSD, SVG, EPS, AI, PDF) and as a web font.
All major items required for web apps are included in the set (like arrows, actions, social networks, etc.).

There are very nice icon fonts out there, both free or paid, and they provide flexibility in several ways compared to using standard icons.
However, a major drawback is that icon fonts usually come as a single font file where we need to load the whole file to use few items.
You’ll remember Fontello that allows us to create custom icon fonts via a web interface. Font Custom, an open source tool, is a command line alternative for it.
Simply target the folder that has your SVG or EPS icons and it’ll generate the fonts.
Also, it’ll keep watching the folder in case you make any changes to the icons and will always keep the fonts up-to-date.
P.S. The rules in the CSS generated are named similar to Twitter Bootstrap which is nice for the fans of the framework.
Free vector world maps are must-haves of every designer’s toolkit as there will be times when they are needed.
I had published Free Vector World Maps Collection years ago. Needed a map again, there were some new maps in my bookmarks and made a complete search on them to release an up-to-date collection.
You can now find all the quality and free vector world maps, usually in .EPS ad .AI formats, in this post (also added few high-resolution JPEG ones). Make sure you bookmark it as I’m pretty sure you’ll need them one day.

Picons.me, an icon design company offering various icon sets, is sharing a set of 60 social icons for free.
The set has items for all the popular social networks and comes in multiple vector formats: .AI, .EPS, .PDF.
There are also .PSD + .CSH versions and .PNG in 8 different sizes (from 16*16px to 512*512px).
P.S. In order to prevent any confusions, the resource's website mentions that the Picons.me license doesn't apply to this social set.
Social networking icons, although there are many of them, new and original ones are worth-bookmarking considering almost every website needs some social love.
Stampaxx is a set of 100 social icons that are in the shape of stamps and all have their unique social network-related motto.
They are available in 2, single-file, vector formats: .PSD and .EPS, so, updating them is so easy.
For anyone developing Android applications and/or creating an Android-related website, using the official icons for the platform would be a time-saver.
The Android SDK includes the complete set of icons, however, they are in .PNG format and hard to resize or customize.
