jQuery has built-in animations & effects. But when it comes to switching between 2 objects, you may need to code a little more for a flawless display.
ImageSwitch is an easy to use jQuery plugin for switching between images using effects.
The plugin supports various effects like fade in/out, fly in/out, flip in/out, scroll in/out, single door & double door.
And, the code of the plugin is well-commented which makes it easier to improve it.
Tip: Besides the Groject.ImageSwitch.js, check this .js file too to better findout how the plugin works.

Pretty cool effects! Thanks for sharing.
Looks cool, needs a mootools clone so I can use it too!
So glad to find this, I have been looking for an alternative for fading images.
What is the point in using scripts like this when you could just do it in flash which will leave less code on your website??
@Michael,
For me, it is easier to create more flexible solutions on JS & integrate it with other apps too. But for a Flash developer, it can be vice versa.
More options, better for everyone I believe
Hi, the link its with “Error”, plis wo will be the download sendme plis, my email its: marcaum54@gmail.com
@Marcos,
The whole site seems to have a problem currently and the plugin doesn’t exist in the jQuery plugin repository.
I suggest that you check it later & hope the site comes back.
is it possible to have this effect looping, meaning as soon as you go the page, the effect keeps on going without having to click on anything
thank..!
