Open Source Media Framework (OSMF), that is developed by Adobe, is a software framework for building feature-rich Flash video players and applications.
It can be integrated into custom applications using the simple API, or you can deploy the ready-to-run dynamic SWF player without compiling or writing custom scripts.
OSMF comes with standard player features such as playback controls, video navigation, buffering, and dynamic streaming.
Also, the ready-to-use plug-ins for advertising, reporting, and content delivery help extending the capabilities of the framework.
And, it has much more features like error handling, logging or buffer management that makes OSMF very promising.

I think this player promotes flash and ADOBE too well. If its going to work and being open source the should offer a HTML 5 player as well
Great perhaps — I haven’t used this but I’ve never found Flash video player customization to be anything but awkward and frustrating.
Also, seems like this is years too late.
Arg ! They could add a Youtube and Dailymotion player as well
Its good for Flash developers, a bit useless for Flex ones …
I think Adobe is slowly going down hill. They are becoming a big GM. Their pricing structure on their products are terrible. If they don’t smarten up Apple will come up with their own designer suite for half the price. Flash is slowly on its way out and adobe Flex who cares you can build rich interfaces using Atlas

And adobe fires back at Apple.
