OK, just playing devil’s advocate here, but do you really think designing to w3c standards is worth all the work? If it happens it happens, but if I don’t happen to do it I don’t go out of my way to fix it.
@LotusJump,
For me, it totally depends on the project.
I do my best to make it standards compliant, if I get stuck in some points, note them, complete those parts in another way & fix them on the road.
I think running the project as early as possible is far more important.
very nice kit, i didn’t know about that website.
thanks for sharing.
Designing to the W3C standards is very important. Much more important than just about anything else. It doesn’t really matter how “fast” you rush your project out the door. The simple fact of the matter is: a website is useless if nobody can view it properly.
Which is the fundamental point behind the W3C, the browser wars, and (x)HTML/CSS in general.
It’s called “interoperability,” and it is a very important fact when one becomes a full fledged web developer. Look around: if a web developer isn’t adhering to W3C standards, they’re either newbies or, like in Google’s case, too-big-to-fail.
I’d bet on the former, in most cases.
