I'm all for choosing to purchase add-ons but the core system should function or how does that business model hope to succeed? I'm stuck not being able to upload product images with no help from their support or any users. Uploading product images should not pose a problem because I'm this close to leaving this behind and moving on to something else.

If they had responsive and helpful support I would have probably spent hundreds of dollars (or euros) on add-ons and templates at this point. A win-win situation for both parties is turned into a lose-lose because their business of release and let the community handle it is not effective.

You market your product as easy and for the small business person yet you contradict yourself by not providing support and leaving people, whose livelihoods depend on this symbiotic relationship working well, out in the cold. PrestaShop, do yourself a favor and do what you say you do and cater to the small business person and you will build a business platform that would be quite competitive and will flourish.

BTW, I'm still waiting for a response from my bug-ticket and e-mail from PrestaShop support. Help me help you! Help me help you! Take my money for add-ons... please! I just need a damn CMS that works!

I have useed prestashop for 4 months now, and im happy about it.

Easy to install, great forum support, and easy to use.

The upgrade of prestashop is a bit harder, and this is something that can be better.

I downloaded Prestashop 1.3.2 and Joomla 1.5.20 and had them both installed and ready to configure under one hour after I solved my misunderstandings with MySQL. On Joomla within five minutes I had my Prestashop clickable from Joomla.

I have read a lot of comments of other carts and they all have pros and cons. Some are difficult and some are bloated. Prestashop is lean and mean and flexible.

Prestashop even though free as is is not for large businesses or enterprises. It is for small to medium sized businesses but have the flexibility to handle larger needs. to say the least, I like Prestashop for its ease to install and its flexibility.

It is darn good for very small and small businesses to start off.

I can tell you from my experience that Prestashop is much easier to install, use, and maintain than any other open source shopping carts I have tried. In fact, I am just now in the middle of converting a Magento site and an OSCommerce site to Prestashop for a couple of clients. I have not tested Prestashop on a really large scale (10,000 – 50,000+ products), so I can’t say if Magento works better in those conditions, but for any small / medium shops, I feel the Prestashop is by far the better option.
The Prestashop forum has grown reaching 50,000+ members, many of which are more experienced users that offer help on the forum. Even people with very little website experience can build and customize their own shop.
I have written many free and paid Prestashop modules that I offer on my website ( http://www.presto-changeo.com/ ) to help create a better experience for your customers and increase productivity and sales. For example, a filter module, a translation module (which I used to translate my site to 15 other languages), and attribute modules that let you customize your attributes.
I have also written many tips on troubleshooting, fixing common problems, and improving SEO.
