I see you fell for the same scam I did. The site clearly indicates that no Flash editor is needed. Its a lie (unless you don’t mind have no links on the “learn more” buttons).

After purchasing a Flashmint template I installed it exactly as they instructed. I’ve had nothing short of a major headache every since then. Their so-called support ticket system sucks big time. Each time I try to get some help through that means, I wait a minimum of 8-9 hours for a response. And then, their advice is usually very brief and not helpful at all. They come across as condescending and rude.

I am totally new to putting together a website. I’m not computer-technically knowledgeable, and found interest in what they offered as it was advertised. They clearly indicated “no software needed”. I do have the total Adobe CS4 package but don’t really know how to use it. I was hoping thier template would provide a way for me to get my first website up and running quicly, and look professional at the same time. Oh well…it hasn’t worked at all.

Unless you are a web developer guru, don’t waste your time with these idiots. There are plenty of other sites out there I plan to pursue. I guess I’ll just chalk this up as a bad investment decision on my part.

If anyone out there wants to help me with what I purchased and get it working like they advertise – I welcome your input and suggestions.

I am having problems with flashmint cms template. All over their site they claim no software required to build your site. So I am building my site and discover there is no way to add a link to a “more info” button unless I get Flash.

So, ok, I download Flash trial and check it out. I open the fla file and learn about the stage, libraries, elements, objects and actions. It jus that I cannot figure out where to put the Action for the more info button. Their support refuses to help.

I calmly and politely explained in detail how I was mislead by their no-software-needed claims with quotes from their own site. They still refuse to help.

These guys are simply a scam. I’ve purchased a template from them around 4 months ago. I’ve spent around 10 days to make it working and at the end I’ve received a copyright infringement complaint from a company that holds copyrights on photos used in the template. They are forcing me to pay $6500 for the usage.
When I’ve tried to contract FlashMint team – they’ve simply disappeared – I do no recommend to buy anything from them.

It’s just that when they said “beginners won’t find it difficult to modify the templates according to any requirements” I thought it mean that beginners won’t find it difficult to modify the templates according to any requirements. Silly me!

Do not use Flashmint they have zero customer service: it says their website “beginners won’t find it difficult to modify the templates according to any requirements.” It’s a lie!!!

Most of the changes needed to be made to the ActionScript 3.0 and they require Flash Player 9 to play it. ActionScripts can be structured in many different ways and without adequate instructions the scripts need to be deciphered first, amended and tested, which takes time. The Flashmint template came with zero supporting documentation.

Flashmint did have a support department, here is a quote from them: ” we unfortunately don’t provide assistance in editing flash, action script and flash editing tutorials”. I have asked them what support they actually provide. I’m still waiting for an answer.

The template came with an error that they refuse to fix properly.

The one subject the support department were keen to explain was how to employ their customization services which are expensive.
