Clickable Flash Maps: DIY Map

DIY Map is a zooming & clickable map, built with Flash, that can be colored with data from a text file.
Using an external data helps using the same Flash file for representing different information.
When a point is clicked & zoomed, any information can be displayed like a link or an address.
List of maps that can be downloaded are world map, USA map, Europe map & few other countries.
The application is free for personal & educational use and requires a licence for commercial use.

Well, I really had some use for this, but they really should check the position of the capital cities…
Germany/Berlin ie. oh man…
With those mistakes I can’t use those maps.
I checked out the documentation. It looks like the city locations is entirely configurable. That’s not baked into the app. It’s all in the editable data file.

I would love to use this map but can’t figure out where to put the data or flash file on my server. Also, how do you edit the xml file? Would love any advice!
You can put the flash file and xml data file anywhere on your web server as long as you set the HTML file to point to the correct location when loading them, just like embedding any other flash file, or even an image for that matter. As for editing the XML file, you can do that in any text editor.
I just found this tonight and think it’s wonderful. Highly configurable and customizable! It looks like a great little app.
