All Your WordPress Websites Under A Single Admin – ManageWP (2 Licenses Giveaway)
If you have (or somehow controlling) multiple websites built with WordPress, than you know the difficulty of managing all of them.
WordPress releases a new version regularly and websites built with it needs to be up-to-date to stay secure, the same goes with the plugins and the need to remember all passwords.
ManageWP is a hosted service that offers a platform for managing any number of WordPress blogs under the same admin interface.
About the giveaway: They are giving away 2 annual Business accounts to WRD readers and details can be found at the bottom of the post.
Besides the ability to switch between websites with a click, the service can bulk update the sites with the new WordPress versions, plugins and themes.
Also, it is possible to install new plugins or themes to multiple websites at the same time.
There is a good chance that each website gets a hosting switch every few years which is a time-consuming process. What if we need to move many WordPress blogs to this new account? Ouch! But, as you guess, ManageWP can also handle this; it can clone a website from one domain to another.
One of the best features is its integrated backup. You can schedule backups to make sure that all your websites have recent copies when needed. It also monitors the uptime of your websites via the integration with the free uptime monitoring service: Uptime Robot.
The service brings a similar beauty for the publishing part: you can post an entry to multiple sites, manage the blogroll links or add users, all in bulk.
ManageWP has a free plan that allow controlling up to 3 websites and bigger packages exist (which would be a good fit for anyone/web agency with many WP websites).
How to join the giveaway?
2 annual Business accounts are being given away and, in order to get a chance to win one:
- suggest a new feature for ManageWP in the comments
and winners will be selected by ManageWP from the 2 best entries on 17 Feb 2012 (8 days later).
Good luck to all.
The winners
ManageWP has selected the winners and here they are:
- Alejandro Carrillo – for "a custom dashboard widget in all the sites within my ManageWP account,
which I can update with whatever html content that I want" (comment #514381) - Erika – for "pdf to download to help with getting started" (comment #513396)
Congratulations and thanks to everyone for joining.

Sure – enter me in.
Here’s a suggestion:
* Rollback for plugins (and their stored data) without having to roll back the entire site backup.
Very cool app, I am going to start playing with the free version. One feature I might suggest is the ability to enable/disable an announcement banner across multiple sites.
A connection to Google Analytic to check how all sites are doing, and to see how each one is comparing to the others.
Really like the look of this.
Regarding the comp for suggested feature…
- Android app
- Google page rank of the site
It would be great if it pulled the categories from your sites, so you can bulk publish to categories with out typing them in manually.
Ability to manage ads across all sites by the advertisers directly and let them pick and choose which sites they want.
Enter me.
Suggestion: Aggregate performance monitoring. Please!
I am considering ManageWP for my managed WordPress hosting account instead of the WPMU multi-site system I have now. One of the key features of my current system is being able to simplify admin for my clients, such as removing the “permalinks” and other confusing admin functions. So my suggestion is the ability to edit admin for clients. Thanks!
By the way, if I win this, I would be happy for you to use my new business as a case study in creating a managed WordPress hosting business with ManageWp.
I would like to see several options:
- Bulk manage of WordPress default settings since most of us are installing and having the same settings for start
- I’d love to see the always up-to-date secure all wordpress websites settings (several of them are functions.php, several .htaccess, several plugins) – to see them as a default package to deploy for all websites. Now we can do it separately or install bulk plugins – but secure package – that would be one of the best options ever (fix database, change prefixes, etc). So we could for example rotate it on bulk pages… etc. etc. – the author can surely think of more things here
- Default test for new websites – an demo database with all necessary test styles, post examples and page examples with optional plugins for install immediately (upgrades to admin of wordpress with for example upgraded tinymce or such).
- When posting something new trough managewp to check if our post has something that is using a plugin not installed in one of the bulk selected blogs
- SVN integration for commiting the theme and other changes / I prefer git, but none the less
- Dropbox integration for deployment (offline work taken online – not just for backup)
- Some sort of ticketing system like activecollab, trac, or something else supported (for example – bulk upload of users logins to those systems – or internal trac system for bugreports on websites)
- Time tracker – how much time you work on all or some of the websites
- Billing for job that has been done as an administrator
- Educational license for colleges that are teaching WordPress and having the websites online :]
Very Nice App: I suggest a multi level access for the administration, So companies can depend on it. Admins can do everything, Less privileges roles can update the modules and the core backup the website force backup and etc…
iOS app, google analytics, rss and adsense connections, auto backup
Just tried found out about this and I have to say I love the idea of managing each site in one place. The backup makes this even better. Overall I am sold, it will help me backup and update my clients sites faster.
So far, my suggestions might fall under the same lines as others:
* Categories pulled from each site.
* Google Analytics integration
* The SEO page is a bit hard to read– it runs long. I would pay more if it had the features like SEOmoz.
* Help/Directions that were easier to find. Or a pdf to download to help with getting started. Maybe emails sign up with weekly how-to or ways that I can improve my sites with using this service
But overall, loving this and can’t wait to see how tis
A scaled down mobile version may be?
More SEO capable features.
A compare function between the sites and a Iphone app
should have live analytics reports i mean google analytics is not giving the live reports/statics but it should have a section where we can view the live includeing the current day statics.
I want it
Automatic backup on update all would be great for the occasional theme update that breaks the site. Keep our sites backed up and help us revert easily, if there are any problems
Sure, I can do it manually, but isn’t ManageWP all about saving time and unnecessary effort?
Hi, folks.
The app looks great. It really it’s gonna save me a lot of work.
I have a few ideas.
1: A custom dashboard widget in all the sites within my manageWP account, wich I can update with whatever html content that I want; for example: a embed video explaining the use and functions of the new plug in I just installed in their web site using manageWP. This will be very useful to explain my client the features or advantages of the new upgrade I just made in their sites.
2: A pop up window in my clients dashboard to make some big announcements
3: I don’t know if this is posible, but will be great i we can create sub menus in the navigation bar in the admin panel.
4: A way the users can send messages to the admin trough their dashboard and viceversa.
Looking forward to win!
Cheers
1 button optimize and repair databases. Also available as scheduled task.
Split the traffic graphs so you can see how much traffic goes to each site, instead of only the aggregate graph.
Server load by plugin, to start eliminating hogs.
Development website clone: clone an existing site, then after making design changes, theme changes, etc. push the revised site back live.
It should have a special WordPress tips blog in which it sends messages to your subscriber every time a new post is written. Just like an RSS feed. This would be just for customers.
This tool is absolutely a keeper for webmarketers, webmasters and whoever own dozen of WP blogs for business or entertainment.
As far as new features are concerned, well to be honest it’s very hard to find them because this software provides almost everything a multi WP blog owner really needs to manage his/her sites.
Anyway, the following are some improvements to make this application close to perfection:
- Ability to manage, lock and rotate affiliate links directly from Dashboard
- Make it compatible with Android apps
- Provide solutions to solve any possible PHP error experienced by users
- Ability to give users report about the SEO performance of their websites in comparison with that of their main competitors
Warm Regards.
It’s a good idea. With one administration panel, we can administrise many WordPress.
It’s a dream !
It’s magic !
looks like a great product i’m going to sign up for it anyway, but count me in on the contest to win a license.
here is my suggestion: how about user management features, like add a user or reset password to a single or set of sites
A mobile version would be nice
more seo features
Make it compatible with Android apps
Mirror Backups
Cache Mangement with a CDN

Hello,
would like to decide on preset plugin bundle and auto-upload that on all my blogs, optionally removing any other plugin coming with the default WP installation.
Useful to quickly setup the new installations with exactly the plugins you need with just a click or two.
Thanks
Real great visual appeal on this site, I’d rate it 10 10.
