A JavaScript sIFR Alternative: Cufón

sIFR, the widely-used solution for using any font in websites has various alternatives which were also mentioned at WRD:
Cufón is a new one that only requires JavaScript & once configured, so easy to use.
The process for using Cufón is slightly different. Font to be used must be uploaded to a web-based generator, which converts the file to SVG and then VML automatically.
After that, include the generated .js file into your webpage and use it just like any font.
More technical info about Cufón can be found here.

Thanks. Clients always want this font and that font regardless of what web standards say, so it is nice to have some easy solutions at hand. These javascript-only ones are far more appealing than the flash+java combo.
Hm….
seems a lot like typeface.js

I wasnt able to upload anything, so it did not work
I read about cufon today here on webresourcesdepot.com and decided to give it a try. What a relief! It works so much smoother than sifr and flir. The only downside is the fact that you can’t select text but hey, if that’s all..
also, there’s typeface.js but it adds some extra height at the bottom of the generated images
