wow, not bad! I love it! this was a well needed list for those who have no idea what adobe AIR is and the possibilities that come with it.
Thanks for the mention! Actually, Spaz is an open source application. You can get the source code from the SVN repository at http://code.google.com/p/spaz
@Ed, Thanks for the info, I’ve updated the page.
It’s really starting to look like desktop applications are the future… There’s no way you could get this kind of functionality in a browser!

Have a look at http://test.ikitikla.com . It is very biggest e-commercial project.
@GDizzle : I don’t see anything here that wouldn’t work as a SWF in a browser…. Can someone explain to me again why I would want to use AIR ???
I am very interested in the “digimix” sequencer, but I can’t find out anything about it. The digimix page just has a logo on it now. Does anyone know if it is possible to get a copy of this program, or better yet have access to the source code? I’d love to know how they created this.

Also check out Howler, an AIR mp3 player.

Hi,
I am planning to create a hospitality application. The application will contain live TV channel stream, VOD streams and movie video streams. This will be almost like a mediaplayer.
The concept is to setup a PC based set-top boxes with LCD Panels to hotels. But all the data ( such TV list , Movie list ) will be stored in a remote Databse server ( MS SQL or Oracle).
Since it should be very RIA with flash files, I chosed Adobe AIR to develop such interactive application.
But when I go into adobe devlopment learning, I found
1 ADOBE AIR with FLEX
2.ADOBE AIR with FLASH
3.ADOBE AIR with javascript
I am ready to choose any type and go on. But it should support best Video player, SQL support.
Also I am planning to deploy the application in Linux Set-/op boxes in future.
Please advice.
@jkk,
I can easily say that I’m not an experienced AIR developer. I created an application but took so much time of mine & still learning.
I think you should better ask this question to Adobe AIR gorums for the best answer:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/index.cfm?forumid=72
Nice list, but how about this one: http://www.riaforge.co.uk/go/flvplay
check out more AIR apps at the Adobe AIR Marketplace.
I don’t think there’s any such thing as an AIR app without source code.
Just browse to the folder where it was installed. It’s all right there. SWF files, JS files, etc.
Thanks for this list. Please check out this new Air Application for time tracking :

Also checkout just released cyn.in Desktop AIR app.
